Born, Bred, and Raised in the USA — Why It Matters Where Your Beef Comes From

Here's something most people don't realize: a significant amount of the beef sold in American grocery stores is imported from other countries. It can be processed and packaged here, labeled in a way that feels familiar, and still not be American beef. That's not transparency. That's confusing — and it's something we think families deserve to know.

At Ackerman Acres, every animal we offer is 100% born, bred, and raised in the United States. Not finished here. Not just processed here. Born here, raised here, and cared for here — on American soil, by American ranchers, from start to finish.

Why does that matter?

First, it's about standards. The United States has some of the most rigorous beef quality and safety standards in the world. USDA grading, inspection protocols, and animal welfare guidelines exist for a reason. When your beef is raised entirely within this system, you know what you're getting.

Second, it's about supporting the people who do this work. Cattle ranching in America is a way of life — one that's getting harder to sustain every year. When you buy imported beef at the grocery store, that money leaves the country. When you buy from a family like ours, you're supporting American agriculture, American land, and American families.

Third, it's personal. Allen's family has been running cattle in the Nebraska Sandhills for four generations. This land, this climate, this way of doing things — it's in our blood. We believe in American beef because we've spent our lives producing it. We've seen what happens when cattle are raised right, on good grass, with clean water and open space. That's not something you can replicate in a factory overseas.

We started Ackerman Acres Meats because we were tired of seeing our product — and the products of ranchers like us — sitting on shelves next to imports that don't meet the same standards. We wanted families to have a choice. A real choice. One where you know the country, the state, the family, and the values behind your beef.

When you see that label on our packaging, it means something. Born in the USA. Raised in the USA. Delivered from our ranch to your door. That's a promise we stand behind.
